Our client an international award-winning company in Limassol. They were established in 1989 and they are providing Mobile Satellite Services specializing in the maritime sector. Their clients are ship owners in the USA, Russia, Cyprus, Greece, Middle East and South America.

They are currently looking to hire an IT Support Engineer to assist in the deployment, support and continued development of our network management appliance.

Responsibilities:
Be the first contact point with our customers with issues relating to services
Travelling to ships to perform installations and configurations of systems
Create and maintain system patches and versions
Monitor servers and software for performance
Develop cutting-edge system automation tools
Collaborating with technical team members, clients and management
Providing technical support and problem resolution for the product
Respond to support questions that come in via phone and email from customers relating to messaging, and communications software and hardware.
Resolve communications and email issues for remote users

Skills:
MIS or Computer science degree, BSc preferred
2+ year’s hands-on experience with Linux appliance systems optimizing open source applications.
In depth understanding of Linux networking, protocols and services; DHCP, SSL, VPN, VLANs, ssh, TCP/IP, DNS, Samba, NFS, FTP
Ability to multi-task resolving a number of support issues at the same time.
Demonstrated ability to debug complex network systems
Experience and hands on knowledge of systems’ security
Demonstrated ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot software and to work under tight time constraints
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.
Working knowledge of Cent OS, Zero Shell, and VMware is a PLUS.
The ideal candidate is a team player, a mentor with a take ownership attitude, and possesses excellent time management, and communication skills.

The standard working hours are from 9am – 6pm Monday – Friday
